TLC, for mums everywhere .....
The sun came out today, and its bright rays danced on my wall as it fleeted through the clouds. This welcome break from a dreary morning made me smile and I started to think of my very, very lovely mum.
I remember as a child, when she tucked me into bed. She used to tell me stories of the ‘Bunnies’ who lived in the sand dunes of our local beach, and whose incredible adventures carried me safely and happily into my own pastel coloured world full of dreams.
I remember her scolding me as a teenager. In fairness she did have a point, and I probably should not have cut myself a fringe without using a mirror!
I remember her reaction when she saw my tattoo. “That will be really hard to get off you know!”.
I remember her voice, her touch, her words, her laugh, and I’m very lucky that she is at the end of a phone. I want to bundle together my memories of her so that I can access these whenever I need some tender loving care (“TLC).
Since I left home, I have had the pleasure of ‘adopting’ mum like female friends whose thoughts, kind words and love sustain me.
So whenever you are, whatever you are doing, take a moment and think of the female influencer whose maternal instincts bring you that motherly TLC we all crave, and just spread love, love, love, love, love ❤.
